In 2003, I somehow convinced the Regina Leader-Post to let me do a comic strip each week.

The result was A Comic!! It ran every Thursday until early 2009 when Canwest budget cuts resulted in newspapers removing a lot of local content.

Working on this strip taught me many valuable, mostly comics-related, lessons. It was the first time I had been published on a regular basis– which brought with it the thrill of people actually seeing my stuff.

The amount I learned during this period is evident in the astonishing badness of the first 4-5 years of the strip. These comics are ripe with immaturity and amateurish mistakes. But if nothing else, at least I learned how to print neater.

Begin the Begin

Please note: The dates are all incorrect. I didn’t keep a record of dates until 2007, and so the occasional missed Thursday really throws everything off. The upside is you get to celebrate Halloween in March or something.
